What is science communication?
Science communication is the craft of taking complex, specialised knowledge and making it understandable, engaging, and genuinely useful for people outside the field. Talks, writing, demos, video, whatever it takes to turn a “huh?” into an “aha!”.
What's a science slam?
A science slam is like a poetry slam, but instead of poems you explain an idea, and the goal is to actually get it across. Entertainment and education in one.
I actually started on poetry-slam stages. Between 18 and 22 I performed lyrical prose, short stories with a lyrical touch, and travelled to perform around the country. That mix is still me: science and art, the technical and the creative.
